Chris Meyer, MD, was born in Cleveland, OH. His undergraduate study was in Biology at Williams College in Williamstown, MA. He graduated with Honors and earned his BA in 1990. Dr. Meyer enlisted with the Air Force in 1991 and completed undergraduate pilot training in 1993. He flew F-15 Eagles for almost six years before attending the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1998. After graduating from medical school in 2002, Dr. Meyer completed a Transitional Internship with the National Capital Consortium in Washington, DC. He went on to graduate from the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine and served as a Flight Surgeon for the 509th Bomb Wing, Whiteman AFB, MO from 2003 to 2005. From 2005 through 2009, he piloted A-10’s with the 303rd fighter squadron, deploying twice to Afghanistan. Dr. Meyer continued his military service as a flight surgeon with the 184th Intelligence Wing ,McConnell AFB,KS before retiring in 2017.
Prior to joining KMC, Dr. Meyer was CEO of Galichia Medical Group. While maintaining a full medical practice, he also served Galichia Heart Hospital as Chief of Utilization Review.
In addition to Dr. Meyer’s standard medical practice, he is an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) for all 1st, 2nd, and 3rd class flight physicals. Chris learned to fly in Wichita and continues to fly as a private pilot with instrument and multi-engine ratings.
Dr. Meyer has two sons. His outside interests include spending time with family, travel, and college sports.
